About the job
You will be involved in everything NLP, splitting your time between research and delivering production models. You will work closely with the data engineers and software developers to breathe life and skills into our state-of-the-art Video Recommendation Engine, FAIRE.
This is a role for an experienced NLP Engineer (Machine Learning Engineer) who works hands-on with the data and product every day, has experience bringing new models into production and is on top of all new NLP news and trends as they happen.
You will be responsible for gathering, organising, and preprocessing relevant datasets to train the video recommendation engine.
You will be responsible for developing and refining the architecture of the video recommendation engine to optimise its performance.
You will be responsible for assessing the video recommendation engine’s performance by measuring its accuracy and relevance in suggesting content to users.
Tasks
- Gathering, cleaning, and structuring video metadata, user preferences, and viewing history for model training
- Experimenting with different models and measuring performance and selecting solutions
- Researching and sharing the latest developments in Natural Language Understanding, Natural Language Generation, and Graph Neural Networks
- Designing, experimenting, and optimising the video recommendation engine using appropriate algorithms and parameters.
- Analysing user feedback and engagement metrics to fine-tune the model for enhanced personalized recommendations.
- Comparing different model variations to identify the most effective recommendation strategy for user engagement.
- Continuously tracking the model’s performance, addressing any issues and updating it to adapt to evolving user preferences and content.
- Designing, implementing and maintaining Machine Learning Model Pipelines to solve business needs
- Working with software at all stages of the development lifecycle
- Defining infrastructure requirements and architecture for Model Training and Inference
- Reviewing the performance of production models, performing evaluation and tuning
- Owning the data pipeline required for building reliable data sources for model development
Requirements
- Must be passionate and knowledgeable about NLP Technology and enjoy monitoring the latest developments and papers
- Must be passionate about solving the climate change problems
- Be able to demonstrate direct experience in developing machine learning models and taking them through to production
- Comfortable generating AI Prompts (ChatGPT).
- Have an engineering mindset and expertise to solve real problems
- Have good Python development experience working with software at all stages of the development lifecycle
- Have deep expertise using AI platforms including Pytorch, Tensor flow & AWS Sagemaker
- Have practical knowledge of the latest transformer language models such as Bert, Roberta, GPT3, GPT4, etc, and NLP Open Source Libraries e.g. Hugging Face, AI2, OpenAI, Spacy, etc
- Ideally, have a Masters-level academic background with a focus on language processing
